#15 You're an @$$hole. Why would the average person know the difference? You're only in the Reserves because you're too much of a p@#sy to actually fight, but you still want the attention.

Ned,

And you are an idiot, people sign up for the reserves may serve 2- or 4-years active service before they start the weekend duty. Others may do the entire 6 years on weekend duty. During the Afghanistan and Iraq wars thousands of reservists were deployed in-country with their units or on independent assignment. Naw, the real p@#sy is the dude who has never served but feels they have the right to insult a person who volunteered for duty.

I dont know Rosalyn, they say Putin was actually voted in. Like, some of the most mis-treated people on the planet voted for him.

Pasoonie,

Just spit-balling here, but I'm guessing he was going to win that "election" regardless of the vote count.

I once had to explain to someone that the moon was many many more than 7 miles away and was not always "behind" the earth. Dude thought the moon made it's own light becasue he thought it was always in earths shadow. He then asked me my thoughts about the dinosaurs living inside the earth.

back in the mid 80's my roommate was in a band and the drummer (not the brightest bulb on the tree) showed up as we were watching Dr Strangelove, he asked what it was and i said "it's a black comedy".........about 20 min later he says "there are no black people in this"

#4 ... well, dish (and others) do subcontract so called market research companies and do in fact collect various data from boxes. Had to do retrofit on the return boxes for comcast, time warner, verizon, dish etc. It wasn't uncommon to pull out add-on boards between HDD and MB which did in fact dial during inactivity hours back to the data collection place. As a matter of fact you do get discount on your monthly bill if you connect your box to the telephone line or ethernet. I never saw camera units installed, but seen quite a few of them in the trash after previous shift. Reflection or not, data collection is a huge business, take a look at Ipsos for starters...

I think the person was responding to a fool according to their folly, and you obviously didn't get it.

"Why are you spying on me?

I was working in a call center for Dish Network and a guy called in, very upset. He wanted to know why Dish Network was spying on him. I tried to let him know that we were not in fact spying on him. Which he countered with, "if you are not spying on me then why is there a camera in the damn box?" "Sir, a camera? There is no camera in the receiver" I respond. "Yes there is" he screams "I know there is because I can see everything happening in my room on the TV right now."

I sat there and pondered that statement, trying to figure out what was happening. I asked, "sir, is your TV off right now?" In the background I hear the clear sound of a TV being turned on. I then said, "sir, that is called a reflection. Is there anything else I can help you with?" He hung up."
