MPD (now DID) is EXTREMELY rare. However, there seems to be an epidemic of MPD from attention-seeking teens on social media as of late. Not sure why this generation is so obsessed with having/faking mental disorders or why anyone is encouraging them. Can we just go back to peanut allergies and gluten intolerance?
It's more than extremely rare. Most experts no longer believe it exists. The prevailing opinion now is that these poor folks are actually dealing with, in most cases, an acute mood disorder like bipolar or schizophrenia. As somebody with full spectrum bipolar, I can tell you that some of the delusions that I believed can be very complex and feel real. To me, a person convincing themselves that they are a whole new person is absolutely possible with an acute bipolar episode. I've experienced more bizarre delusions than that. One way or another, I feel for these folks.
I hate to break this to you, but I'm sure they meant out in the country, i.e. in the countryside of South Australia. English isn't for everyone I guess.
Event if it's a country or a state, I guess the photo represents the mask After and Before....
