“Before and after processing the Andromeda Galaxy from my backyard”

“The image is processed to remove light pollution, color balance, and boost faint details. Nothing artificial is added. You could literally input the before picture into nearly any image editor and arrive at the second image. The trick is that the first image is absolutely massive, nearly half a gig large and full of faint details.”

Jeremiah, Right to way much make up taking away from your beautiful eyes - and anyway blue / green does not match brown eyes / hair!

* Right - way too much ...

#9 Those modern ones aren't hard disks. They are solid state drives (SSD). Bad comparison.

A lot of people really abuse plastic surgery to the point that they look like a ghoul (Madonna, aka Madame Expiration Date), but in #4 - that's a great job!

#2 I am an astrophotographer. This is very true. And I love the explanation. You never see this kind of stuff shown let alone explained on general websites like this. The only thing I'd add is that the 1st photo is probably comprised of 2-8+ hours of long exposures stacked together, and the second photo represents another 1-4 hours of work in the editing program to suss out the fine details. Great job on M31, M32, and M110.
