They should have used a pic of Artax in the Swamp of Sadness. Would be a nice accompanying moment while people are depressed about their age anyway after seeing these.
The Rock Biter is mourning the loss of his little friends, the Night Hob and the Tiny Man (snail rider.) He thought his hands were strong, but he couldn't hold onto them and they got swallowed by The Nothing. A sad moment as well, but only for those who know the movie. The Atreyu/Artax scene is more widely recognizable now because of all the memes.
I know the Rockbiter scene. Saw the movie when it came out and I have it on Blueray. I said thought the Artax scene was better because it was always more,... sad and more powerful, not because of the meme.
