He did go off on his own, though. He built his own laboratory and continued to be criticized and called a mad scientist. None of his ideas were ever even considered because his reputation had already been tarnished by Edison. Edison was a terrible person, and a hack.
he is now but back in his day not so much. plus he was kinda crazy. they say there is a fine line between genius and madness well he played hopscotch on that line.
The sooner the world turns to science, the better. We need to stop believing in unsubstantiated fairy tales, and start focusing on reality. Just because someone tells you gods are real doesn't mean they are. No deity ever created by man since the beginning of history has, does, or ever will have existed.

What latest science debunking it, every study I have read about this that was remotely scientific either could not prove it's not hallucinations or was so inconsistent that they just said no conclusion could be drawn.
