It's probably more like that his whole world doesn't revolve around knowing the intricaties of the Star Wars world.
He likes the role. But in the end is just a role about something that's not real.
He probably gets questions about inconsistencies in the movies and details mentioned in some book enough that he gets tired of it. I bet Star Trek actors get the same.

Ahmed Best who played Jar Jar Binks had it worse. He got a role in one of the most popular franchises ever as a beginning actor and basically got destroyed because of the stupid character.
