America is a new nation, and a very powerful one. It has come under scrutiny, mostly within itself, over social issues only because they were recent, and because America is always in the spotlight.
Everyone knows about America. Let me say that again- Everyone. Knows. About. America. There are few other nations in the world that so many people know so much about. Europeans know about other Europeans, but are clueless about Central and South America (except for their soccer teams.)
America has also put a lot of effort into quelling all social inequality, a lot more so than other nations think they themselves have. A perfect example of this is the Olympics. The US has one of the most diverse teams in the world. How many people of different races, religions, creeds, and ethnicities do you see on teams like China, Italy, Russia, or Brazil?
This hatred of America is just like a meme that's gone viral, and almost everyone that participates in perpetuating the stigma has no idea what they're talking about, and should really focus on themselves and their own nation.
I could talk a long while about human instincts and behaviors, all of them inherent and at one time necessary for evolution and survival. History repeats itself because of our nature, not our lack of understanding. We are working on being better, but it won't happen overnight.
