Why do you need a plastic bag EVERY time you buy something? Before the fee you got a bag at every store even if you had one small item. You didn't need the bag a threw it away when you got home because you already had 40 plastic bags in your closet.
I've brought a backpack and my own plastic bag for years when I went shopping. Works fine. The ones that whine because of the fee are like children that don't like it when they are denied something they feel entitled to.
