"The Lego Movie should have been total garbage, or at best, mediocre. The fact that it wasn’t, and was actually pretty brilliant, still stuns me."

"Tremors. It hits all the right notes for a monster movie without any of the annoying tropes."

"Office Space"

"Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. It was a sequel of a spinoff of a dying children’s franchise that came out 10 years beforehand. Yet somehow created compelling characters, an interesting narrative that tended to both children and adults while also breaking a lot of the conventions of modern day kids medium."

"Pirates of the Caribbean. Let’s be honest, I think when everyone heard that Disney was making a movie based on a ride, most people thought it would s#ck."

"Dodgeball"

"The Jumanji sequel. Usually not a fan of remakes or sequels to such awesome classics and then stepping in Robin Williams’ footsteps no less. But I should have known that Jack Black as a teenage girl would make any movie period"

"I would say Clue.

It’s based on a board game, so how good can it really be?? Turns out it’s possibly one of the funniest movies from the 80s!"

"Edge of Tomorrow: live die repeat."

"There is absolutely no reason that The Emperor’s New Groove should have been as much of a comedy classic as it became.

It was a troubled production that was originally meant to be something completely different, and the end result was basically them trying to salvage something from all the effort, starring a guy known mostly for bad, dumb, lowbrow junk. And the title is atrociously bad.

It’s unbelievable that it became one of the funniest films of the 21st century."

"The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

I was honestly blown away with how fun it was! I thought “Nic Cage playing Nic Cage, sure that’ll be fun” but holy sh#t, so much fun action, fun story, great cast, including Pedro Pascal, mi corazón"

"The Mummy"

"The Prince of Egypt. It’s a Bible story, but then they gave the scoring to Hans Zimmer and we ALL benefitted"

"The original Little Shop of Horrors has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 92% even though the interiors were shot in two days and the film had a budget of about $30,000."

"The Nice Guys"

"Zombieland. I thought it looked so stupid and I’m really not a fan of zombie movies anyway, but my friends drug me to see it one day and I loved it."

#9 Edge of Tomorrow butchered the novel it was based on: "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. They movie completely changed the female lead! In the novel she was Over Powered to the point she is THE military poster girl Hero Of The World. She trained the weak @$$ main character after they met until he could actually assist her. However in the movie, even though she's (still) an experienced superior military officer, she's suddenly a damsel in destress that needed to be saved and sheltered by Tom Cruise. (>_<)

Just when you think the franchise has been exhausted and every ounce of creative innovation has been used up in the first 5 movies, they hit you with this. I won't spoil it for others, but if you go into it with little or no expectations, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
