Drunk idiots accidentally starting fires, that's why it's illegal.
For legal reasons and for the hundreds end up in hospitals after such an event. And the animals getting loose. And becuase it is beyond the level noisy and stinks and carries the potential for fire hazard.
But sure the are other reasons why it is also illegal in few other states outside of us.
