dont mistake politeness for routine. They'll smile and compliment to your face, but usually backstab people or play victim.
A cousin of mine had to move to Japan for business and everyone was all nice and happy smiles. He meet a girl got married and wanted to stay. People changed real quick. In the end, they left Japan because the treatment became unbearable.
