Had something similar happen at a garden center I used to do IT support for like 2 months after I left, I went to visit some friends that still worked there and I found out. A chipmunk has chewed through the fiber optic cable connecting two of the buildings. There was just enough extra slack in the fiber to put a new end on rather than having to either rerun or splice...

#29 That's a bad battery, has nothing to do with build quality.

#30 If you think running that machine is old, I suggest you don't look inside some of the older business computer rooms, there are still a lot of ancient machines out there that are key to their businesses. 'If it ain't broke don't fix it' is a really cost effective way to run a network.
