That's my go-to hair style, although mine doesn't have the classic straight vertical sides and sharp right angle corner. I prefer the alternate method where the sides to follow the curve of my head a bit more before the transition to the flat top.
Until my current barber, I did not know that there was an actual tool to help with cutting the flat top. My barber has an aluminum square comb (probably 4"x4"). All of my previous barbers used a regular comb and just eyeballed it.
