Wen, I’ve been there many times from the 80s on. You cant smell exhaust fumes there unless your nose is right in the tail pipe. There is far too much air flow / wind coming off the ocean. No need to exaggerate to make a point that you don’t like cars on the beach (nor do I).

Burt, I call B.S. You probably live somewhere in an urban area where there is so much stink to the air that you've become de-sensitized. There is NOT enough airflow to take away the smell on the beach. It's a stupid idea for cars to be on the beach. Period.
