These guys are comparing how a date would be written in in a spread
sheet with how it is spoken. Europeans say it much the same way when they speak. And it does make more sense to write it the way it is spoken.
yyyymmdd is easier for sorting.

That's exactly how I name files and make lists of dates. The sorting is so simple.
