That's not true, in Germany can you get a pennealty, if the supermarked gives away outdated food.
Those aples would be treated as rubbish and the police or the "Ordnungsamt" would fine you.

thank you for setting things straight. Rules and regulations taken to a ludicrous level at our northern neighbors. We have foodsharing freezers and boxes here in Austria, tho where everyone can take and leave food at his own risk.
Wrong. The Austrian Reinhold Messner did it first without oxygen on May the 8th 1978.
Sounds smart, but shows ignorance. Many local sherpa assistants make the trip without any oxygen everyday. It's just those who are not acclimated that need oxygen.
In Brazil they use either alcohol or petrol depends what's cheaper at the moment.
