Torrential rains caused bad flooding in Toronto where some areas were covered in 2 meters of water and which left parts of the city without power.
These pictures show a few of the many instances of pilots attempting to land at the Kai Tak airport and crashing into the water or hitting buildings. The Hong Kong government closed the airport in 1998 due to its poor safety record.
