These photos show four blocks of dormitory complex near Shanghai that housed factory workers employed by Apple contractor Pegatron, a Taiwanese electronics giant, until they were abandoned in a hurry some eight weeks ago. Apart from staff’s bad and austere living conditions their salaries were ridiculous. Their basic salaries were just under £250 ($360) a month for working six day per week and 12-hour shifts. They could increase their salaries by about £200 ($287) by working daily overtime. It is not the first time that Pegatron Corporation was criticized for putting their employees into inhumane working conditions. In December 2014 a BBC investigation exposed poor working conditions and employee mistreatment at Pegatron factories making Apple products. As you can see through these pictures, nothing much has changed. Take a look.

This is the Valravn roller coaster at Cedar Point on Lake Erie in Ohio. It is the tallest, fastest and longest “dive coaster” in the world. That 90-degree drop is what makes the roller coaster a “dive coaster.” It’s 223 feet high and reaches speeds of 75 mph (120 kmh).

Oleg Cricket is a Russian thrill seeking roof-topper who captures stunning images from skyscrapers making daredevil tricks. Don’t ever try to repeat it yourself, they may look cool but it takes an intense exercising and preparation. Oh and you may have a panic attack and sh#t bricks while standing that high above.

These old weapons served multiple purposes and could be useful in a battle back in the day. If you ran out of ammo, at least you could continue your fight with a bayonet or brass knuckles or with whatever that was fixed to the muzzle of your rifle.

A horse got stuck in a two-meter-deep drain filled with thick mud near Wellington, New-Zealand on Tuesday. The poor animal could hardly keep his head above the mud and was unable to move when a rescue team arrived. It took the rescuers from Massey University VERT four hours to pull the distressed horse from the drain. The rescuers put a board under the horse’s head to keep it elevated and out of the mud. A 12-tonne digger removed the piles of dirt surrounding his chest and back to help him breathe better and a vet got down to anesthetize him. After that the horse could be lifted out vertically of the ditch by the digger. After some time the horse was already standing much to the delight of his owners and everyone who helped rescue him.
