This frigate known as HMNZS Wellington was commissioned for the Royal New Zealand Navy in 1969. Thirty years later it was decommissioned. And it was utilized in 2005. The whole process was effective. But why couldn’t they just cut it?
Los Angeles is the “capital” of homeless people in the U.S. There were over 73 thousands of homeless people here before the world crisis, 40 % of them were women and children. A “slummy block” is located in less than one mile to the Mayor’s Office. Here you can always meet 2,000-3,000 homeless Americans. The photos are rather depressing…
I love people with a good sense of humor. The owners of the following boats surely know how to laugh as the names for their "floating objects" are hilarious and pretty odd.

Wave-Gotic Treffen, an annual German festival for heavy music and “dark” arts, was held in Leipzig turning the city into “gothic Heaven” for 4 days. About 20,000 attendants dressed in black and with gothic make-up will surely catch your attention. Some photos are just shocking!
It has been over a month since the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. It flows into the Gulf of Mexico slowy reaching Louisiana’s marshes. Over 60 miles of Louisiana’s shoreline have been oiled already. The leak will reportedly be plugged with cement and mud this week. Hopefully the oil will be finally stopped. So far about 6 million gallons of oil have spewed into the Gulf. At the same time scientists think the spill has surpassed the 11-million-galon oil spill that occurred in Alaska in 1989.
Has the world turned upside down? I don’t know if the people in these photos dress like this to joke around or if they have some kind of mental problems. But it looks like such “fashion” is becoming very popular in China nowadays.
In Russia, 'VIP' people and government representatives drive cars with strobe lights ignoring all traffic rules and not paying attention to simple drivers, which causes a mass wave of discontent in the country. People who are fed up with it, mostly drivers that should often bare these 'VIPs', make protests from time to time.
Here’s one man who expressed his discontent in an unusual but rather creative way :)
Here’s some sort of a funny 'optical illusion'. I know what you’re seeing there all :)

This Redwood Log House is unique. It is made from one trunk of a Redwood tree by Len Moore who came up with this cool idea after finding a shelter in the Redwood tree trunk during a storm. Because this tree was really giant, the creator decided to build a house out of one log.
The house was constructed in 1938. It looks impressive, but the mere fact is that the tree used for the house “walls” was almost 2000 years old.
Actually there were 4 log houses built from one trunk, and one house now belongs to Robert Ripley. This cabin is 33 feet long. It contains over 11,000 feet of lumber, enough to build a five bedroom house. And it’s famous all over the world.
