Cold, calm and dangerous – this is the best description of Russian spetsnaz, a term used for special purpose units. As you can see, these are portraits of veterans who used to work for Russian spetsnaz. Photos are taken by Dima Beliakov. We have posted great works by Russian illustrator mvn78 before. Truly, these illustrations are unbelievably beautiful. And here comes a second part you should see. By the way, the artist’s real name is Vladimir Manyuhin. I think he is very talented!

The Grand Ole Bestiary is an interesting project that contains many pseudo-retro black and white photos. You can’t see any human heads because they all are replaced with the heads of animals. Every picture and every character are unique and have their own name and story. The project is fantastic, and you can look at the pictures after the jump and buy the works you like following the link at the bottom of the page.

The Russian anti-missile defense system situated near Moscow is abandoned for many years. It is called A-135. This base’s construction began in 1971. Its main goal was to counter ballistic missiles over the capital of Russia and the Central Region of the Russian Federation. Since A-135 is dumped, you can take a virtual tour around it.

This artwork is called “Stop the Violence”. All works are unique because the material they are made from is a human skeleton. It was purchased by Francois Robert in the mid-90’s at an auction. The artist spent hundreds of hours to finish his project.

Women are not the only shoe lovers in the world. This man enjoys wearing high heels, sneakers, platform shoes, etc. I have no idea what shoe size he wears, but he seems to find all possible shoes that fit him. Look how happy he is on these pictures!

Some Russian guys who have a passion for heights found one very tall radio tower and climbed it. They, of course, took pictures to show their climbing and how breathtaking and dangerous it can be at the same time.
