Photographer Matt Logue shows with his Empty L.A. photo project what the City of Angels would look like if it was totally people-less.
The photos were taken over a period of 4 years (he began in 2005) at different places of LA.
Very interesting work. Check it out!

A gift doesn’t have to be expensive to be great and please the person to whom you offer it.
You can for example make one by yourself like in this post. It’s easy and cheap but it’s creative, original and it should impress your girlfriend. ))
Take a look and try it.

Oasis of the Seas is a cruise ship in the fleet of Royal Caribbean International.
Oasis measures 225,282 gross tons, several times larger than Titanic. The ship's power comes from six marine diesel engines producing 18,860 kilowatts each and three similar 12-cylinder engines each producing 13,860 kilowatts. Oasis of the Seas will offer passengers features such as two-story loft suites and luxury suites measuring 1,600 sq ft (150 m2) with balconies overlooking the sea or promenades. The ship features a zip-line, a casino, a mini-golf course, four swimming pools, volleyball and basketball courts, theme parks and nurseries for children.
I will definitely make a one-month tour on one of such cruise ships. It must be fantastic!

Two Russian traceurs in Saint Petersburg made an incredible jump from a nine-story building (35 feet high) to land on mattresses of the five-storey building roof (22 feet high). It looks very impressive and don’t worry, the two jumps were successful. And this was not some kind of training for a movie just two guys who are passionate about Parkour.
Hats off, guys!

Here is a lesson about Spartan hygiene.
This guide will show you how to brush your teeth like a Spartan!!

After a year of various failures, the 27 km particle accelerator is now fully repaired. Actually, it has been launched last weekend and the test was successful… and we’re still alive :))
So here are gathered cool pics of this “big bang machine” while being repaired and during some experiments. I’m still fascinated by all of this…

Millions of children around the world suffer from poverty, violence and diseases, many of them have to work hard.
Many people don’t care about this and it is terrible. Frankly, my heart bleeds seeing these kids, who from an early age had to deal with this cruel world.

Well, here’s another web ‘craziness’ - people talking on bananas.
No one really can explain what the point is but it looks kinda funny :)

These unique prints from the Pennington Photo Studio were accidentally discovered just recently.
At the beginning of the last century, two photographers William Pennington and Lisle Updike traveled to four states: Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona, photographing the Indians.
It is these prints that you are going to see inside the post. Beautiful photographs and interestingly enough, they have an excellent quality. Look.

Russian astronaut Maksim Surayev aboard the International Space Station started his blog which is becoming more and more popular. Mostly, because of his original writing and the interesting things and weird pictures he’s talking about. All of this is mixed with humor and makes this blog unique.
Recently, he was talking about what ‘space smells like’, he wrote if you strike two granite stones with one another, it will give you this exact smell. Well, need to go there to smell it for myself :)
Or all the confusions in translation of canned food from Russian to English and vice versa.
He also wrote that all the astronauts on board have their little hobby, like, for example, growing lettuce and wheat, writing poems and diaries etc.
Now let’s take a look at the pictures.

If some of you want to buy this super luxury penthouse, they will have to pay about $15 million.
This apartment of 900 square meters is situated in one of the towers of Tomson Riviera, in Shanghai. Big, pricey and luxurious… see it yourself.

This is really horrible. Faces of these women were mutilated by acid, and this is the work of bastards who call themselves men. This is such a strange way of solving problems (or revenge) in Pakistan.
After the jump, you can look at these poor women and learn why the acid was thrown into their faces. But think twice before you go into the post. The pictures are very graphic.

The plane for the President of the United States.
Just look at this plane, everything you need is inside.
Comfortable and classy…

Those pictures were posted on an Ukrainian online site for classified ads.
The owner of this apartment wanted to rent it so he posted some pics.
The thing is, not only the apartment looks old and has old pieces of furniture but there is one major inconvenient. The toilet is situated in an unconventional and not very convenient place!
See more after the jump.

This is the former Pepsi Cola bottling plant which was located in Battambang, Cambodia.
The vast warehouse still contains the original bottling machinery from the 1960’s plus about 10,000 bottles of Pepsi, Miranda, Singha Soda, Teem…
In fact, the factory was abruptly shut down when the Khmer Rouge took over Battambang in 1975.
But there is always one old man though who takes care of the lawn and trims the hedges…
I find always interesting to see abandoned places, especially when it’s related to something famous…

These salt evaporation ponds are situated in San Francisco Bay.
They are shallow man-made ponds designed to produce salts from sea water or other brines.
The color indicates the salinity of the ponds. In low to mid-salinity ponds, green algae are predominant. In middle to high salinity ponds, red algae are. Millions of tiny brine shrimp create an orange cast in mid-salinity ponds. Other bacteria that also contribute different tints.

This seaside resort was one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world a few decades ago. Lots of stars went there like Elizabeth Taylor or Brigitte Bardot.
But in 1974, the conflict that tore Cyprus in half and divided the North and South forced the closure of this resort…
Since then, it’s nothing more than a ghost city.
Too bad, it could be a great place to go on vacation…
