The earthquake on 11th March 2011 caused a massive tsunami (with 10 meters high waves) that crippled the cooling systems at the Tokyo Electric Power Company’s nuclear plant in Fukushima. It also let to hydrogen explosions and reactor meltdowns that forced evacuations of those living within a 20km radius of the plant. To this day, people are not allowed to live there.
A former fashion photographer, currently a blogger as well as a YouTuber, Leanne Lim-Walker Leanne and her fiancé, Paul, bought their house a year ago and have been renovating it room by room to make it feel like home while sharing the journey on Instagram. This time Leanne went viral after turning an empty room into a cozy and stylish place in five days, and it wasn’t even particularly expensive.
