Sheila Giovanni, an artist from Brazil, only needs her pencils to create hyperrealistic paintings that look exactly like celebrities. Yes, they are definitely not photographs.
David Irwine finds old or discarded thrift store paintings and revives them by adding pop-culture icons.
Remington Robinson’s paintings are beautiful, and they have a bit of a twist – they can fit in your pocket. Originally from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Robinson moved to Boulder, Colorado, in 2004, following his passion for painting mountains. He saw someone else doing it, and gradually started painting smaller and smaller things until he just said, “why not?” and started doing these.
Aaron Schuerr juxtaposes his pieces to the subject which in his work becomes a frame, an ideal background that perfectly blends with art to create one breathtaking image.

Alex Grey documents his experiences with LSD, as well as the “endless love and unity” he realized from taking the drug. He has been painting for years and years, and his works became pretty popular.
The Canvas Project is a project created by Brazilian artist Gabriel Nardelli Araújo. He takes figures from classical paintings and photoshops them into the modern settings. His project so far is fully digital, as none of the pictures exist physically yet.

Polish painter Zdzisław Beksiński had a tragic life. His wife, Zofia, died in 1998. A year later, on Christmas Eve 1999, his son Tomasz committed suicide. Beksiński was the one who discovered his son's body. In 2005 Zdzisław Beksiński was stabbed to death at his Warsaw apartment by a 19-year-old acquaintance because he refused to lend the teenager $100 and threatened him further.
