This suburban train that runs from Paris to Versailles looks ordinary from the outside, but its interior turns it to a really classy place. SNCF, French national railway company, has decorated the trains’ carriages with the splendid images of Versailles Palace and its beautiful gardens.
Some people became too excited with the Queensland Rail etiquette campaign launched in Australia and made their own versions of the company’s posters.

Can you imagine a cow being a well-trained show horse? Thanks to 15-year-old Regina Mayer from Germany it’s now possible. The girl from Laufen always dreamt about her own horse, but her parents who had a stable full of cows refused to get her one. So Regina started to train her pet cow Luna.

This is a Canadian National locomotive that is by a 4 stroke, V16, 4400 Hp, 183 liter diesel. Unfortunately, it had catastrophic engine failure. While the train was passing through Independence, Louisiana, the engine exploded and one of the 16 cylinder packs was thrown completely through the train. The failure was so violent that the cylinder fell through a nearby home’s roof and wound up in an interior wall.
It happened this way. This coal train’s support dropped down when a wheel bearing got overheated, and the train crew immediately stopped the train in compliance with the instruction. But it stopped on top of a wooden bridge. Inside this post, you can see what happened next. This is oldie of the day, but we didn’t have a post about this train before.
Canada had its biggest train wreck in June, 1864. While Americans were fighting in the Civil War and the Underground Railroad helped thousands of slaves escape to freedom, the Canadians lost a portion of its immigrant population in the biggest train wreck of its history.

Two carriages of a passenger train fell into a river on Thursday, August 19, after floods knocked out a bridge in southwestern China. They swept 200 meters down the river. No casualties were reported and no one was missing, as all 1,300 passengers had been ordered off the train before it derailed. Terrible experience for these people.

This is one of the highest railways in the world. It connects Xining, Qinghai Province, to Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, in China. The total length of Qingzang railway is 1956 km. Construction of the 815 km section between Xining and Golmud was completed by 1984.
This railway is the first to connect China proper with the Tibet Autonomous Region, which, due to its altitude and terrain, is the last province-level entity in mainland China to have a conventional railway.
More than 960 km, or over 80% of the Golmud-Lhasa section, is at an altitude of more than 4,000 m.
The 1,142-km Qinghai–Tibet railway from Golmud to Lhasa was completed on 12 October 2005. It opened to regular trial service on 1 July 2006.
The trains are specially built for high altitude environment. From October 2006 five pairs of passenger trains run between Golmud and Lhasa, and one more pair between Xining and Golmud. The line has a capacity of eight pairs of passenger trains, and the carriages are specially built and have an oxygen supply for each passenger.
