Hummers - No longer built or serviced in America! No more GM SUV's either! Chryco's big stuff, gone! Goddam! we gonna drive little pink teapots and flowerpots? Goddam the scooter crowd! Why did the insurance guys desert us? Mayhem was fun in 'Nam, Desert Storm was a blast! Doing Iraqis was just target practice! Now, we get home and drive powder-puff eco-boxes with puny diesels and batteries? WTF!
That... is a perfect example of why Hummers shouldn't be allowed on civilian roadways. Sure, the Hummer driver had nothing to worry about... but if there had been people in the backseat of the other car, they would have stood absolutely no chance.
On an unrelated note... Wtf is with all those random-arse smileys? What about this photo brings to mind an image of a smiley firing a minigun? Or blowing bubbles while wearing sunglasses? Or a wizard?
Baffled this is you http://izismile.com/2009/03/31/road_crash_hummer_h3_vs_suzuki_ignis_7_pics.html# and this is me http://izismile.com/2009/03/31/road_crash_hummer_h3_vs_suzuki_ignis_7_pics.html#
FYI This happened in Holland, near Rotterdam. The guy in the Suzuki did die according to the newspapers here. The driver of the Hummer was arrested. I don't know what happened to him later on.

Exactly. The obvious solution is to make the Hummer less safe and more prone to implosion on impact with a tin can then to make the tin can safer.
To the HUmmer hating round, stop sucking the eurotard liberal cocks and pound sand. People drive the vehicles because they are safe, it you have a problem with them buy a bigger vehcile. I care more about my family than you and yours. If that vehicle keeps them safe then tough shit for you.
, what are the social imilocatpins of purchasing a vehicle built in a foreign location vs. one built locally? What are the wages of the workers at each facility? What about suppliers for each product? (Since Hummer is no longer owned by GM, it cancels any argument for locally owned products.)One large social aspect never accounted for in any of these arguments is the basic enjoyment of driving vehicles. Is that not a social benefit? I enjoy driving my large gas guzzling vehicle for the sheer fun of doing so. Do I need to have a large gas guzzling vehicle? No, but it is surely a fun way to go wherever I want to.On a different note, what would the LCA of a full electric vehicle be? What about a PHEV? An electric vehicle by nature consumes much less petroleum, and has less environmentally harmful chemicals in general. No gas, no engine lubricants, potentially minimal transmission fluid or differential lubricants (depending on design), much less coolant. Then again, there's a lot more copper or other metals used, not to mention the larger batteries requiring more metals (mostly Lithium).
