The problems of alcohol, smoking, drugs, gambling are still important today.
There is no easy way to get rid of it. Social advertising is there to draw attention to these social problems. It is always well done and often, it is shocking. But does it help? I think not much. I gathered a large selection of posters on this topic. Look, it's interesting.

Seriously did anyone else understand the meaning behind the two towers photo???? Are they trying to imply that had they been intoxicated a horrible tragedy would never had happened? SOOO drinking and driving can have a positive end result YES? Whomever came up the the idea for that is idiotic!

Thanks for forwarding the liberal agenda to demonize smokers to justify unfair taxation and pay for socialist health care. Drinking and driving kills drinking smart with a DD does not. Gambling is only addictive to addicts and not 96% of all people who gamble. Images like these are media ploys used to manipulate the view of the general public. The DUI posters are too broad, the gaming posters are used to ensure a monopoly for existing gaming states to protect revenue, and the smoking ones are targeted at unfair taxation policies that as long as the people see the smoker as evil they will allow to happen. Fact is if they wished for people to stop smoking they would ban instead of tax. The facts are not factual as they exclude all other sources of carcinogens leading to cancers such as pollution from that drive to work etc... Smokers tend to be poor, the poor tend to spend more time in the car driving to work, more time living in the low rent and high pollution areas of cities, they are more apt to live in an older home with asbestos and lead pipes or paint. They have higher stress and less access to health care, are more apt to work multiple jobs and less apt to exercise. So labeling one action taken by the average smoker and saying that's the one that causes cancer is pure B.S.

too bad most of the one's on weed lie.
i agree its a bad idea to drive, no matter how many people say they can. however, scientifically proven that there is no loss of memory or brain cells- let alone life. there are no recorded deaths from cannabis.
if the makers of anti-drug ads actually presented facts all the time, maybe people would listen.
