Most of the children in Chinese villages have almost similar conditions. It’s horrible? Without a doubt.

Why is this tagged horror, I don't see what's so bad here. The kids have books, food, clothes, 2 parents, good teachers and a smile on their face. I guess they don't have the latest Nintendo system, iphones, and mcdonalds. Oh the noes!

Ah, but did anyone notice there is only one obvious female amoung the students? To me that is a larger issue than the physical school. It never what was or wasn't in the classroom - it was the teacher that made the difference. If the girl child does not have the chance to be educated, then the future children will suffer for it. I can't see why this is tagged as horror, the kids are happy and healthy, so what's the problem?
You don't miss what you never had.

And as for the class being majority male? In a small class, It's not that unusual.
And I've beeen told in SOME times in China female children are abandoned because of the 1-child rule to stop over populating in China, so the children can carry on family names.
Maybe this is the reason? n_what
