I agree with #3. He is just doing his thing. If it makes him happy, so what. The great thing about this web site, is the variety of pictures shown. You get to see stuff you wouldn't ordinarily get a chance to experience. And, face it, people, their hobbies, lifestyles are fascinating. So are the places shown.
