This is a case, when all is simple and divinely beautiful and the first who got how to do this was Robert.
He put on a metal board different plants and passed through them the electrical surges of 80,000 volts. Immediately after that, he took pictures.
You must see this, it is really very beautiful; it may seem that it was photoshopped but the pictures are real.

Yes, the plants likely died. Look up Kirlian photography. That's what he did. You can get the same thing from animals and people too, you just have to avoid the head or you may kill them.
