Candyland, for those who don’t know (not a lot I think), is one of the most popular board games in the United States, kind of a cultural icon. Well, Candyland has come to life for a day in San Francisco last week, and not in a small version. To celebrate the 60th birthday of the game, Lombard Street was transformed on Wednesday, August 19th into a life-sized game of Candyland. Only children from UC San Francisco Children’s Hospital and the nonprofit Friends of the Children were competing. And last thing, at the end of the game, there was a delicious cake for all. Quite a sweet event for a sweet game.
