Although the experiment was quite dangerous (the train could go off the rails), but the pictures turned out to be very good.
Various objects (bottles, apples, stones) were put on the rails just before a train passes at a high speed smashing them and turning those objects into dust. High-speed photography was used to make these great shots.

it's not dangerous. do you realize how heavy a train is? a train going off the tracks because of a stone or a bottle is equal to a car crashing because it ran over a banana peel, mario cart style

So it turned the glass back into sand, then some of that sand fused to the track again as glass(ish)? Amazing! (hard to tell from the last pic but that's what it looks like to me)
