Harajuku is a famous fashion street of Tokyo with a unique street fashion. Young people dressed in a variety of styles including gothic lolita, visual kei, and decora, as well as cosplayers spend the day in Harajuku socializing. The fashion styles of these youths rarely conform to one particular style and are usually a mesh of many.
Many prominent designers and fashion ideas have sprung from Harajuku and incorporated themselves into other fashions throughout the world. Incredible pictures. Have to see them!

But yet, the US ranks 9th in the list of "World's Fattest Countries".
Gotta love stereotypes.

so 9th is a good score? did you take in count that you also have one of the largest populations and you have millions of people living under the poverty line? that pretty much means that you are either obese or you dont have any food... so sad...

Well, many of the pics are cosplay of either J-Rock artist (for example nr.20 is cosplay of Reita from "The Gazette") or of different anime characters. But I really admire japanese youth and Japan as a country... there you can wear anything you want without being laughed at, noone will say a word.. n_sm_19

I am american, and I have to say that it's a sad, sad state our world is in when this nice pic collection of JAPANESE PEOPLE doing something that looks fun starts a conversation about ANOTHER COUNTRY'S OBESITY PROBLEM...

I would like to think that these people could be seen, and their sense of fun could be judged on it's own merit... but, of course, some people (#5) can't look past their own prejudices...

*NOTE* I am NOT defending my country's obesity problem, or denying that it exists... I am simply pointing out how SAD it is that someone else used this delightful pic collection to pass what is obviously a very personal judgement on an entire nation of people... why, I don't know... there certainly could've been a better place and time for it...

Peace...

exactly #13, nippon culture is in my opinion the most respect ridden one in the world
I admire that civilisation but these youths are kinda like lost in between let's say rebellion and bad western influences
at least that's what it looks like to me from where I am
