Capsule Hotels in Japan (24 pics)Here’s a good example of culture differences. In Japan, it is something common to have such capsule hotels. It is made for businessmen in the first place, who don’t have time to go home and start working very early. Or for people who didn’t catch the last train. Their well developed train system shuts down around midnight.
So, here you go, little boxes where you can only be in a lying position. There’s even a small TV set at your feet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You can leave comments without being registered but be fast to sign up to get your favourite username. |

Wish we had those in the western world (for very low prices). I would use it a lot for my business trips where most of the time I only have a nap in hotels (checking in late, checking out early). .. I do hope they have showers though..

Now a days, Japanese'd prefer to stay "comic coffee shops" to stay whole night.
At there, it's free for drinks (coke, coffee, orange juice, etc.) and reading comic books as much as I want to read and also can do internet.
And even showers available sometimes.
I'm a Japanese, and live in Tokyo for 36 years though, never ever use such a "tiny capsel hotel"
Anyway, I just hope to guys who's visiting Japan enjoy.
