It's very sad to see that everyday people can just so easily turn on harming other people because of politics or whatever reason there may be.
I think that we need another 1000 years of social evolution to call ourselves humans.

Somehow people has the idea that the common german soldier was a monster, a beast that killed jews, russians etc just for the fun of it. But the truth is that most german soldiers were just like every other soldier in every other war in history, no better, no worse.

Mr. Ree. That's stating the obvious. You could say the same of any WW2 picture, be it American, Russian, British, French, etc. That was more than 65 years ago!

Agreed with the sensible ones. These common soldiers are peoples brothers, fathers and sons. I feel bad for any of their deaths as anyone from the Allies side. The gestapo.. The SS... the ones that killed the innocent peoples in those concentration camps..those guys.. they are the villains. These guys are just victims of history and small minds.
