Hey, my car does exactly the same!!
if someone can explain me why i'd appreciate it very much :)
btw, my car is only 7 years old and it's an audi A4, so no I'm not going to buy a new one :)

From what i know ur valves need reseating and your timing fixed.

Cylinder compresion is very low. It probably has a lot of miles on it. One way to get it back to life, for a short period, is tu use oil additives, and a 10w40 or 15w40 oil
