Theft Prevention Systems Advertising (8 pics + 1 video)

Because of the rise of apartment thefts in Santiago, Chile, agency DDB decided to show apartment dwellers that it is however easy to break in in their homes. The aim was also to advertise ADT home security systems. They went to several apartments and slid a folded box under the door... See how it works after the break.

DamnHot - it's really hot there, Damn!

Don't see how it's showing how "easy" it is for people to break in.. Yeah, the people would have been wondering how the hell a box got into their apt, but doesn't mean anyone could break in unless they could slide under the door.

I think it's pretty smart. The advertisers are praying on an insecurity of their markets 'safety' and offering a solution too. The box makes the homeowner think that they've been broken into... so while the building may get some complaints it'll also make them stop and think about how to better secure their home.

I like it. Though I think there are some better 'clearer' ways to convey the same message.

So, my apt is vulnerable to: Plastic Man, Elastigirl, and Mr. Fantastic. I'm calling ADT NOW!

Instead of going to ADT,
the tenants completed their apartment security by all buying weather / draught rubber seals for the bottom of their doors.
