Watermarks on Izismile: Why, Where, for How Long…

Posted in Iziblog   6 Dec 2010   / 901 views

We didn’t want to do this for a long time, but we are obliged to this now.
From today, we will put temporary watermarks in these two posts: Daily picdump and These funny animals. But this measure is forced as we are tired to see how our efforts and work which we spend a lot of hours on is copypasted to dozens of other entertainment websites in minutes.
Watermarks are temporary. They will disappear in 24-48 hours, after the posts were added.
So, those who are opposed to watermarks completely, can visit us a day after the posts are published. Then there will be no more watermarks.

Thank you for your understanding,
IziSmile Team

I get your point and all, but maybe something smaller ? you made it so that we can partially see the image behind but seriously it's too big. I understand the fact that it's temporary but the point of izismile is daily updates, like the daily picdump, if we have to go back two days before ... it's annoying.

Izzi, I cant blame you for placing a watermark.

It's a shame people just copy the whole site, I 'm glad you try to stop that/spread your name that way.

And I have no problems with it what so ever, because I can remove them from the photos I like or wait. But make them smaller... because it is really annoying, just to see the pics.
And by making it smaller they will continue to copy them to other sites instead of finding a way to automatically remove the watermarks. So you have your publicity...
I hope you understand it, and people share my thoughts.

Hi,

what you do is NOT watermarking, because watermarks are (nearly) invisible to humans! Bujt ok I understand the reason why you do so.
