New Face for Army Hero (10 pics)

Posted in Pictures   22 Feb 2011   / 18830 views

Ten years ago Army Private Mitch Hunter performed a heroic act with bitter sweet results. He saved a woman’s life during a car accident by pushing a live wire off the woman. Sadly, the ending wasn’t a happy one for him. Hunter was left severely disfigured and the formerly handsome young man now lives with a severely scarred face, a prosthetic nose and leg. Hunter’s story is about to be re-written and the brave soldier just might get his happy ending after all. He has received approval for a face transplant by the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Wonderful news for a truly heroic young man..

While most all Izismile posts are " Really funny stuff", it would be good if there was a different heading available, to be used with some of the great stories like this which don't really fit as "Really funny stuff"..

This loser tried to invade an independent country... he got what he deserved. Hopefully he will suffer for the rest of his life.

just another example of brave Americans fighting to support the interests of other cowardly euro countries who can't fight for themselves. God bless America.

how can you say : @micheal c. "god bless america" while christians believe that god gives people destiny ? So god bless america but gives some poor random guy a shitty destiny ? if that's you're god, go ahead and keep it. what is worst : the worshippers or the god worshipped ?

this accident happened 10 years ago (2001) in Thomasville, North Carolina.
#5) I must admit - we failed to bring democracy and freedom for people who live in North Carolina. Shame on us for our cowardice. We're only brave enough to shoot afghans. But seriously , we may be not proud of our involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq but we're doing our job and we are supporting Your interest. So stop spitting on others - because only one thing really matters - Mitch Hunter is a hero: he saved a life.

Some of these comments are cruel. This young person put his life on the line to save someone else. It had nothing to do with him being a soldier. It was his innate goodness.

I am surprised that he had to wait for 10 yrs. for surgery.
