That extra piece is so that youngsters with a violent streak can stage mock executions or assassinations and blow off Putin's head. Then they put the stump on, splash around some fake blood and brain matter, then make the doll stagger around for a few seconds before collapsing in front of other dolls set up as 'onlookers'. Lots of fun!

you place that piece over one of the built-in hands; you fit one of the extra hands into it using "ball and socket" mechanism. and with an extra-long sleeve, the new hand blends in.

(not the whole thing isn't a mismatched piece of crap, anyway)
