This is Redondo Beach California, Kings Harbor where, on the morning of March 8th, millions of dead Anchovies were found. They literally clogged parts of the harbor. The dead Anchovies weren’t just on the surface, they were many feet deep.
Wow name calling... I read that it is all three fishes. Sardines, Mackerel and Anchovies in that water. Not sure if site linking is allowed but check out latimes for more information.

the names "sardine," "mackeral," and "anchovy" are all loose terms which refer to a variety of families and species. so, yea... there could be several dozen types of small fish swept together.
meanwhile, mankind continues to poison the oceans in a variety of ways. coincidence?
