People who play video games like to choose a particular virtual character to express themselves in game worlds. The Alter Ego project by photographer Robbie Cooper is created to reveal the “real-life” photos of virtual people. He travelled to France, Germany, and China to meet gamers and take a picture of them so that you could compare their real photos and avatars.

Show all commentsIf given the option to play as a man or a woman in a third person game, I'll typically choose woman. Not because I have some sort of gender identity issue, but simply because I'd rather look at a chick running around than a well-muscled guy while I'm playing.
Look at it this way, would you rather set pictures of random dudes that look kind of like you, or you could identify with as your wallpapers, or nice looking ladies? That's how I see it at least.
