Japan makes super realistic food models and in some cases they have been shown in art galleries for the attention to detail and the artistic renderings of the product.

The process begins when a restaurant sends over a real dish that they want re-created out of plastic and artistically created. They also send photos and details. Then it is the artist’s job to take liquid plastic and oil based paints, and regular brushes. Sometimes the artist has to go that extra mile and improvise to create that perfect model.
