This is the Puyehue volcano that is located in southern Chile. It erupted violently on June 5 and displayed a considerable amount of ash and smoke high into the air. The column of ash, smoke and gas was three miles wide and six miles high (10km). It was brought to Argentina by the wind covering some of its cities with a blanket of ash.

The ash cloud has reached a height of 6 miles, and is now carpeting cities in Argentina.
