Lightening Strikes Car Antenna (9 pics)

Posted in Lifestyle » Cars   20 Jun 2011   / 12893 views

An unlucky driver unfortunately had his car’s antenna hit by lightening but managed to escape without any injuries.

The lightening sent the antennae through one of the car’s tires and left a small hole in the asphalt too.

Ahhh... Lightning sent lightning through the cars tire and left a hole in the pavement. The antenna would have been obliterated by the strike.

unlucky?

FYI, tire material resistance is way to much than human body!
he shall thank the god than he was not shocked.

Shouldn't the lightning charge stay "in" the vehicle (faraday's cage and all), and not shoot through the tire in to the street? I always thought the car was the safest place while thunderstorms are happening.
