@Analphilosopher:
Japan:
2011 estimate 127,960,000
2010 census 128,056,026
UK:
2001 census 58,789,194
Mid-2010 estimate 62,262,000

So about double the people.

@2: *facepalm*

Of course Tokyo is now in UK. They moved it to avoid further pollution from Fukushima. And the UK received a nice payment for all the land they sold, so now the British Pound is a very stable currency again.

I have been to Tokyo numerous times, that map overlay includes the entire Chiba peninsula and other areas that are fairly rural.

I do hope that everybody gets that comment #2 was in jest.

But of course some hater has to get in a jab at the USA.

"To" means east. And "Kyo" means the Capital city.
Kyoto was the former Capital from 794 to 1868.

This is the denigration of Europe/Europeans. Dare say once again we Europeans are lucky people(s).
I grew up with such denigrations.

Japan has not only got more people, Japan has also got more area, than Great Britain. Nonetheless Japan is denser. Density can be a disadvantage.

Map is wrong. That isn't greater Tokyo, it's the Kanto region, the region in which Tokyo sits. It's a bit like drawing a map of all the home counties and calling them the area of Greater London. The map is a lie.
