What a narrow view. There are lots of reasons to do that - from mere hobby and participating in historical reconstructions to custom-designing it for some rich WWII stuff collector or selling it to a movie studio.

I believe that considering the overall scope and quality of the construction and the amount of people involved, they had a solid reason to build that tank.

Are you really that stupid you believe they build this for fun? It's for a movie studio in Russia called Mosfilm. This is the studio for making the greatest film in Russian history, War and Peace (1965). The film had over 120,000 cast members and if it was filmed today, it would cost over $700 million US. The believe in realism, not computer generated fantasy films.

Beautiful job!! WOW. Only in Russia. PS - to easytodo. The studio has built T-34 tanks. They're doing a movie about Stalingrad, not that idiotic one "Enemy At The Gates". They needed T-34 tanks, not to be had so they built them for the movie.
