Some of them look good but nothing looks "too good to eat", so my question is, were they any good?

Most of those cakes are just for design purposes, the bakery usually makes a back up cake that you can actually eat. But some of those cakes you can actually cut into, like that violin. But the owl cake for example, would probably fall apart if you tried to cut it.
