How They Train Olympic Champions in China (56 pics)

China is one of the top countries today when it comes to sports records. Chinese team is currently on the first place in London Olympics standings. But the golden medals of Chinese sportsmen are achieved through painstaking trainings that start in the early childhood. Is the Olympic success worth the children’s tears? It’s up to you to decide.

This is caused by the current economical system. These kids have free rooms, free food and water. Their parents don't have money to support them so they put them up for training. America and Europe are guilty too.

What I see here is another propaganda by the west to incite hatred toward the Chinese and the Chinese people.. they will find anything to blame on China or try to convince the world to hate them. China is a new scapegoat of the West.. we have no jobs (Walmart is cheap lets buy more) lets blame it on China, no human rights (the state police will taser and strip your rights) lets blame it on China, Animal abuse (McDonald kill million of cows a day) lets blame it on China. These kids chose to live this life nobody force them to do it, a lot of them drop out after a few months. When USA is on top of the list in the Olympics back then nobody says anything but when the Chinese team is leading the Olympic ohhhhh China is inhumane to its athletes. When a 16 years old chinese girl won a 400m swim medal ... ohhh she's on drug, but when Michel Phelps won many medals it's ok.

Most of these kids never see their parents again. One boy in the last games said he'd been home a total of 14 days in the years they took him away in China.

In exchange for this lifestyle, they get 2 bowls of rice a day instead of the standard one. An excellent trade-off.

"When a 16 years old chinese girl won a 400m swim medal ... ohhh she's on drug...."

In swimming events, the difference betwixt the gold medal and no medal is usually a few hundredths of a second. That's how close the competitors are. If any swimmer comes out and not only beats their fastest time by three seconds, but also beats the world record by more than half-a-second, questions are going to be asked.

Half of china lives in poverty, This is one way to at least get out of poverty but the large difference is, Many are forced or pushed to sports and not by interest.(The Government uses sport as a way of getting "Respect") Its a pity. Many go back to poverty right after their golden years are over.

Kind of wish someone had put me through something like that when I was a kid. Instead I grew up to be a lazy blob that I am today.

in those pics we see pain, happiness, serenity... that's the life of a champion, no matter where he is from! No pain, no gain! sorry they have to endure that but that's the way of champions, no wonder they are the best!!!!

It should be asked from current chinese olympic team, if their life was too tough and/or cruel. Only they know. Everything else is just guessing. Looks horrible, though.
