A guy constructed a server/gaming room at home. It has a data rack with routers for a house’s network, media server that streams HD movies to the TVs around the building, house alarm panel and security cameras controlling unit and an array of HDDs for file storage. The room has electric blinds and the automated lighting system with several presets.

I think I missed about a cooling system. All that equipment will put out a lot of heat which will cause the fans to run more and put out a lot more noise.

Please... How 00s... Given that the drive [and technology currently] is moving smaller and smaller, who the heck would bother building a rack. I took mine down ages ago and centralized the bulk of my media needs to one system.

Very nice. Wow. The only missing link is Tonido. Install Tonido in the Home Server and access it from anywhere.

Wow, that took me back. I had something similar in the 90's, but now what used to occupy a whole rack sits neatly in a small cube on the bookshelf.
