No, these are not the photos from some space probe. French astronomer Thierry Legault has taken these pics with 356 mm catadioptric telescope and high sensitivity astrophotography camera.
They don't just take photos for results like this.
What they actually do is: They take 1000 photos and select the sharpest 10% of them. Then they combine these 100 pictures with special software to get a single result image.
